Instead of many small improvements on top of old ideas, Yaroslav tries to look to the essence of a problem to create one strong solution. During stages of development and manufacturing Yaroslav focuses on quality of detail, which is why he appreciates being a part of a team andtries to be involved in engineering process if opportunity exists. I was born and raised in industrial city of Ulyanovsk, graduated local Technical University. I had to become an automotive engineer, but just before graduating I came across with product design. I was so impressed that it led me to discover aesthetics of detail, surfaces and joints, but most important an approach to design that combines all aspects of making a product: pure engineering was not enough anymore. After graduation, I already knew what my true passion was design.
My main inspirations are engineering and technology - both past and present. I use my engineering background to find unique solutions that help me to make object containing more than it is physically, but rather one that provokes new senses in a delicate and intelligent way. I’ve always been fascinated by space history, Vladimir Shukhov’s architecture, who renowned for his pioneering works for structural engineering, intelligent space design from Tarkovsky movies, and a lot of other things. I always discover something new.
